With Halloween coming up at the end of the month, you may be wondering how to celebrate with your little ones. While there are many scary attractions for older kids and adults, what do kids do for Halloween?

Here are some some fun Halloween 2019 events for families you can participate in for the month of October and celebrate your Halloween kid-friendly!

1. PAW Patrol Halloween

This Halloween for kids event is hosted by Target stores. Its theme is based around PAW Patrol, a Nickelodeon kids’ show. This is a family friendly event where kids can dress up in costume and trick-or-treat throughout the store. There will even be a screening of an exclusive PAW Patrol episode and your children also have the opportunity to win some in-store giveaways!

2. Nights of The Jack

When: October 3 - November 3; 6:30pm

Nights of The Jack features Halloween-themed attractions along a 0.5 mile nature trail that is great for pictures. This trail is filled with thousands of hand-carved jack o’lanterns along with various beautiful lit up pumpkin installations and artists’ works. This year their event will feature a “SpongeBob Squarepants” themed illustration! There are also food trucks serving food and drinks so you can enjoy the attractions at your leisure! The event starts in the evening and advance ticket purchases are needed.

3. Scarium of the Pacific

When: October 26-27; 9am to 5pm

Enjoy the aquarium along with other Halloween themed activities for kids! This family friendly event includes a children’s Halloween costume contest, creepy coloring contest, magic shows, underwater pumpkin carving, storytelling, and fun crafts. It is definitely a Halloween for kids that you can’t miss out on!

4. Kidspace Pumpkin Festival

When: October 19-20; 9:30am to 5pm

Not only is admission to the festival free (with tickets requires for some activities), but there are also various Halloween fun for the whole family! This Pumpkin Festival includes a pumpkin patch, festival games, crafts, pony rides, petting zoo, and free performances for everyone to enjoy. All proceeds benefit the Kidspace Children’s Museum.

5. Boo at the LA Zoo

The LA Zoo is transformed for Halloween themed festivities! Not only do you get to enjoy the animals, but there are also activities such as a pumpkin patch, games, maze, bird and animal shows, and animal tours. There are also other events restricted to weekends only that include a puppet show, science show, photo booth, arts and crafts, and animal feedings. Additionally, there are a few select days where your kids can trick-or-treat for Halloween candy!

6. Legoland: Brick or Treat

Enjoy Halloween at LEGOLAND on select Saturday dates in October! Enjoy live shows along with meet and greets with your favorite characters. Your little one can also participate in a costume contest and visit various treat stations that have more than one million pieces of candy! 7. Knotts Berry Farm: Spooky Farm

While many people may be familiar with Knotts Scary Farm, Knott’s Spooky Farm is a daytime family-friendly Halloween celebration for kids ages 3-11. 8. Great Wolf Lodge: Howl o’ween

This is a new attraction theme park in SoCal that features an 84-degree indoor water park, restaurants, arcades, spas, and other children's activities. 9. Fall Festival

10. Marina Spooktacular

This event is hosted by the Department of Beaches & Harbors and has both daytime and nighttime activities. However, the night time activities are recommended for those ages 13 and up. Despite that, there are plenty of fun daytime activities you and your children can participate in! A few include: pumpkin decorating, giant grid maze, buccaneer pirate ship your children can play on, face and hand paintings, and various live performances, music, and kid shows!
